An orthoptist specializes in visual function assessment and neuromuscular anomalies of the eyes. Orthoptic therapy can be done with the patients who suffer from muscular deficiency and feel eye fatigue when doing everyday activities such as reading and computer usage, or if they are experiencing blurry vision, headaches, difficulty reading for an extended period of time, double vision, and in cases of ocular deviation, the residual deviations post-surgery.

In addition to the therapy carried out by an orthoptist, they will also evaluate the severity of Strabismus. Depending on the assessment by the orthoptist, the patient may be remitted to a Strabismus surgeon.
